Presenters: Ryan Scott, Portland

Q:   Is this going to be more "novel" legal arguments that won't actually win until maybe years in the future?

A:   NO!   Almost everything Ryan will be talking about is already the law (as of two months ago).  It can help you immediately, either at sentencing or in negotiations.

Q:  I don't have any promoting or compelling cases and I don't expect to get any.  Shouldn't I maybe skip this one?

A:   NO!   It'll be a good refresher on merger, shift-to-I, consecutive sentences and criminal episodes that will apply to felony sentencings generally, although it will be most beneficial in felony, non-M11 sentencings (DCS, Felon in Possession, Burglary, etc).  We'll just have time for the basics, but you'll come away knowing what to look for in multi-count felony cases.
