More information: The new Federal Child Tax Credit could bring much needed support to your clients, including parents who don’t typically file taxes. Even families who don’t typically file taxes still qualify for this credit. Some might have been receiving it already.

If you think your client may qualify but are unsure how to direct them, please join us at noon Tuesday, November 2, in this free program to learn more about how Oregon families can access this benefit.

Sarah Lora will join us to help unwind the mysteries of tax law and help you provide direction for your clients.

Sarah Lora is an assistant clinical professor of law and the Director of the Lewis & Clark Low Income Taxpayer Clinic.  Prior to joining the Lewis & Clark faculty, Lora was an attorney at Legal Aid Services of Oregon for sixteen years in several roles including as Director of the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and managing attorney in the Farmworker Program.

Lora received her BA in Literature with a minor in Physics at the University of California Santa Cruz, and her JD from Brooklyn Law School.

Following law school, Lora clerked for the Hon. W. Hunt Dumont in the Morris County Court in Morristown, New Jersey.

Lora is a Vice Chair for the American Bar Association Tax Section Pro Bono and Tax Clinic Committee and a member of the Oregon State Bar Tax Section Executive Committee.  She specializes in and is a frequent speaker on immigrant and refugee tax issues.
